Our story

A little fire, a lot of good coffee

Ember & Bean started with a second-hand roaster, a borrowed garage and a simple idea: Benoni deserved a coffee spot that felt like a friend’s kitchen. Today we roast small batches every week, bake our rusks and koeksisters in-house, and know most of our regulars by their order.

We source beans from ethical growers in Ethiopia, Rwanda and Brazil, buy our milk, eggs and bread from Gauteng suppliers, and keep the load-shedding back-up humming so your flat white never misses a beat.
